Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning
No offense intended but: 1. as long as you treat users as idiots,they will most probably behave as idiots 2. I`ve seen many (too many) software engineers, some of them with a master degree, that would easily qualify in the second group that you have mentioned ( I won`t even talk about their programming skills) 3. maybe the Universe is just trying to challenge you
